Now, what do Gutters do for you? They are an important ingredient in diverting the water away from your foundation which helps keep your basement stay dry.
There are Two Different Guttering Systems:
1) The Spike Driven System: this system has aluminum spikes that are driven into the facia boards around your house. These spikes tend work loose and continually pop out and then you have to hammer them back in. What this is doing is breaking the seal between your gutter and your facia boarding, causing water to go behind the gutter vs. inside the gutter. This is one of the main causes for wood rot repair on facia boards.
2) The Hidden Hanger System: it's design eliminates the continuous spike popping by using a hidden hanger system that hooks underneath the lip of the gutter and screws directly into the fascia board. This eliminates the water getting behind the gutter and it keeps the water inside the gutter where it belongs.
